Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 cup soft shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Cinnamon/Sugar Mixture

  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 3 teaspoons of cinnamon

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  2. Mix the shortening, sugar and eggs in a large bowl
  3. Add vanilla
  4. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt in a small bowl
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the large bowl slowly
  6. Chill 1 hour
  7. Mix Cinnamon/Sugar in a separate bowl
  8. Roll dough into balls
  9. Roll dough balls in the mixture
  10. Place balls on a cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes
  11. Cool on a rack
