Tuna Tar Tare

Made from a combo of recipes

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds of fresh tuna steak
  • 5 limes, zest
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 ½ teaspoons wasabi powder
  • 2 ½ tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Tabasco sauce
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 1 ½ tablespoons black pepper
  • 6 scallions, chopped
  • 1 large or 2 small jalapeno peppers, chopped
  • 5 avocados

Directions

  1. Cut the tuna into small diced pieces and put into a bowl
  2. In a small bowl, combine lime zest and juice, wasabi, soy sauce, Tabasco, salt and pepper.
  3. Pour over tuna.
  4. Mix in scallions and jalapeno
  5. Dice the avocado into very small pieces and slowly mixed into the tuna.
  6. Tuna needs to sit in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

Can be served with crackers or tortilla chips.

Note: One recipe added a cup of olive oil but I like it better without it.
