cutout cookies 3 4 cup butter 1 cup sugar 2 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 1 2 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 2 teaspoon salt preheat oven to 400 degrees mix the butter sugar and eggs in a large bowl add vanilla mix the flour baking powder and salt in a small bowl add the dry ingredients to the large bowl slowly chill 1 hour the cookies can either be rolled out and made into cut out cookies or just cut into sugar put wax paper on the table and coat it lightly with flour pull out a small amount of dough that you can work with roll it out into a thin sheet i like to use all kinds of cookie cutters put onto a cookie sheet and cook for 6-8 miutes or until light brown let them cool on a rack once the cookies are cool cover with vanilla frosting and sprinkles
