Ingredients
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger root or 1 teaspoon powdered ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon 5 spice powder
- 3 tablespoon sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon bourbon whiskey optional
- 1 cup shoyu
- 1/2 cup water
- 8 chicken legs
Steps
- Heat all ingredients (except chicken) and bring to a boil
- Add chicken cook 10 minutes at an easy boil
- Turn chicken over and cook another 10-12 minutes or until done
- Let stand for 10 minutes serve chicken with white rice the sauce that the chicken was cooked in is a very good sauce for the rice a little will go a long way so be careful
- Hint: remove skin from chicken it is just as good without it the 5 spice powder is now made by mccormick i have never added the whiskey to this recipt but that is how i got it from my grandma option if you do not have any ginger then change the 1 2 teaspoon of 5 spice powder to 2 teaspoons
